Where can I find Salsa Dancing Classes around Metro Manila?

9th April 2010

I want to learn how to salsa dance.

Any contact info and reviews would be much appreciated!

Looking for something in the Metro Manila area.

Oh and I’m a guy and won’t have a dancing partner to bring with me to the classes… will that be a problem?

I am a graduate of Grupo Filipino Salsa and my instructor was Ares Andres. He migrated to Canada but will be back in Feb (2009) to conduct special Salsa workshops. Contact information and details are as follows:

Grupo Filipino Salsa is a group established to promote salsa and related dances as a means to advocate a culture that builds solidarity among people. It hopes to continue to provide venues for creativity and self expression.

Dance lessons are offered as part of its advocacy. Its, founder, Ares Andres, believes that dancing is a way of getting in touch with the creative divine within, which consequently could yield a sense of wholeness and foster unity among people especially those who dare to dance as individuals and as a collectivity.

It is for this reason that all the dance workshops promote the essential component that makes dancing, not only a sole physical work out, but also an exercise of mind and spirit, generating energies that promotes wholeness with one’s self, others and the rest of creation.

It is for this reason that the dance workshops are integrated in a group dance such as Rueda or the Ronda.

Why not just go to a ballroom dancing area like harmon at greenhills. They have dance instructors that can teach you while having fun at the dance floor.
