I’m 19 and I want to learn how to dance salsa. Is it too late to make a carreer out of it?

25th June

I’ve always wanted to dance, but my parents didn’t let me for religious reasons that I had been forced to go along with. But now I am a year over being an adult and I want to learn how to dance and maybe even do it professionally or make a career out of it, if at all possible.I love Latin dancing, especially salsa, so that’s the path I’m leaning towards. I have no idea how things go in the dance industry, so if you do, please, tell me if this ‘dream’ of mine is actually attainable or if I should just consider making dance a hobby.

Thanks in advance for your help! : )

It’s never too late =) Some people start dancing in their 30’s and can do it professionally if they are passionate about it.
If it’s your dream, then by all means, pursue it – otherwise you may always wonder what could have been
Good luck!

Can I dance salsa in flat shoes?

21st May

I want to learn salsa and other similar dances, but I don’t know how to walk in heels, so I doubt I can even dance in them.

Do they allow flat shoes, or at least 1-inch shoes?

Well as a guy who dances salsa, my feet hurt when I wear my dress shoes which aren’t flat. My dance partners have often danced with some formal looking flats, though the norm is heels. Through practice my partners have often been barefoot. I think that u should learn comfortably, and if u have to perform in front of a crowd opt for heels for appearances. From experience I think that you will learn best in the dancers socks or barefoot, most instructors are very understanding so learning comfortably will most likely not be a problem.

hope I have been of some help
